We are putting together the Ultimate songwriter Coffee Table Book. For a writer to be included they must have sold 10 Million or more in sales and or have written a classic standard in any Genre!, Everyone you see on these pages qualifies. We are so Blessed to have the writers we have included and we have many more that we have appointments for over the next few months. These Pictures will change out from time to time and we never put them all up, We have to leave something for the book. LA and I also have video snid-bits on each writer on our youtube channel.

More Songwriters are a Click Away

LA and I shot Rivers at his Nashville home and got some incredible candid shots like the one above, In our interview we talked about songwriting of course and how Rivers came up in the business and who helped him on the way! Rivers has written some great songs including "Smoke Rings In The Dark" recorded by Gary Allen, "Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy)" by Rodney Atkins and "Real Good Man" by Tim McGraw! You can see a whole list of his hits by internet search, there are just to many to list!
We have known Ed for a few years now and had the pleasure of doing this photo shoot / interview at his wife Laura's Red House in Franklin TN. Ed talked to us about the different stages of his career in music a lot of it out in California before hitting it big in the Nashville songwriting scene.
Bernie Nelson, We have known Bernie for about 30 years. Bernie used to play in the upper midwest where Dak is from and that is where they met. We've always loved Bernie's singing and writing and watching him go from nightclubs to Nashville up close was a privilege! Bernie was one of the first writers we contacted when we decided this book needed to be done and he welcomed us in with open arms. As you can see in the picture above we are at his log cabin in Dickson TN. We got a lot of great shots that night and some great stories on video we will share later on in the book. Some of the songs Bernie wrote are "Betty's Got A Bass Boat" by Pam Tillis, "Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind" as sung by Confederate Rail Road and "When Your Yellow Brick Road Turns Blue" by John Anderson and Chris Ledoux.
We Pulled up to Sony/Tree on a Sunny Afternoon and started loading in our camera's and lights and they welcomed us in like we'd been doing it everyday, and maybe they do a shoot everyday, but this was our first time shooting in the boardroom in the building that houses the business that Buddy Killen built, with the help of a few hundred songwriters of course. We we're told we could set up and Don would be right with us. Don came in and was about as real as real gets. We wanted to know about Don's Songwriting side and we got some great story's about Brooks and Dunn whom he wrote with and produced 13 number one singles for and a lot more about Publishing and running a publishing company. ( Don ran Sony/Tree for over Ten Years). But back to his writing, Don wrote his first number one "Lady Lay Down" for John Conlee and "Brand New Man" for Brooks and Dunn. Thanks Don for being so giving of your time! The Picture above is from the Boardroom
Ed was just nominated for a Grammy for his part in the song "She Thinks We're Just Fishin'" a song recorded by Trace Atkins! In the interview you'll get to hear about the night at the BMI awards when he won Songwriter of the year and how that ties in with Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson! Ed Hill has had many number one songs including"Find Out Who Your Friends Are" as sung by Tracy Lawrence, "It Matters to Me" recorded by Faith Hill, and "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" by Reba! and "Be My Baby Tonight" by John Michael Montgomery. Thanks Ed for being so supportive of this project and LA and I in general!
